Estefanía Muñiz is a writer and director.
She is currently a professor at IE University. With a degree in Law, she left her legal career to pursue filmmaking. Her short films, produced in both 35mm and digital formats, have won prestigious national and international awards at festivals such as ALCINE, the FESTIVAL INTERNAZIONALE CINEMA DELLE DONNE in Turin, the NEW YORK INTERNATIONAL FILM FESTIVAL, the LAGO FILM FESTIVAL, and the TREVISO FILM FESTIVAL, among others.
She has collaborated with creators and artists such as violinist Ara Malikian, who received the KO AND DIGITAL award for the original music of the short film ECOS at the Sant Sadurní Festival, and actor Carmelo Gómez, who was awarded the Golden Eagle at the FESTIVAL DE AGUILAR DE CAMPOO.
Her feature film script Vértice was developed under the auspices of the Cultural Department of the Community of Madrid, which also participated in the production of her first short film "Construir" through a project grant.
In 2020, she published the short story collection Manchas de Café with the Quaestio publishing house. She is the author of the poetry collections Versos bipolares y otras criaturas luminiscentes (2008), published by Atlantis, and Corazón Ombligo (2003) with Sistemas Editoriales. In 2006, she participated in the editorial project Tic Tac by Ediciones Atlantis, alongside other authors such as Ouka Leele, Espido Freire, and Luis Eduardo Aute.
With twenty years of experience in audiovisual communication, she regularly writes for the newspaper LA NUEVA CRÓNICA, EL DIARIO DE HUELVA, and specialized magazines such as GUIA DEL OCIO. At RTVMARBELLA, she wrote and hosted the interview program "Día de Estrellas," featuring personalities from the film industry. She has also been a panelist on ONDA CERO RADIO and M95 TV.
She currently works as Script writer and Script Doctor.
